What's Different About This Page
This is for travellers who've decided Ajanta gets its own full day, rather than being squeezed alongside anything else. It's the same private car and driver as our standard Ajanta taxi service, but this page is written for people planning the day itself — what to expect, how to pace it, and who it suits.
A Realistic Day
The drive out from Aurangabad takes a meaningful chunk of the morning, so most people leave reasonably early. At the caves, plan for a few hours of walking and viewing — it's not a quick stop. Your driver will be waiting when you're ready to head back, and the return drive rounds out the day. We're happy to talk through timing when you enquire so you know roughly what to expect.

What to Carry
- Comfortable walking shoes — there's a fair amount of walking and some steps
- Water and a hat or cap, especially in warmer months
- A camera — the site is genuinely photogenic through the day
Extending Your Trip
If you have more time in Aurangabad, consider adding Ellora and Grishneshwar on a separate day via our 2-day tour, or ask us about combining Ajanta with an airport pickup if you're arriving the same morning.
